OD in Practice - Using Public Narrative
Tuesday, 11th December, 2018 9:30am to 4:00pm
In the complicated web of organisational and system working and change, OD practitioners, leaders and managers can easily become distracted by the constant pressures of targets and regulation that can detract from sustainable change and transformation - you will have probably heard the phrase “ticking the box but missing the point”. So how do we “get the point” and as importantly “what is the point?” and how do we get this across to others? The process of creating a Public Narrative helps practitioners, leaders and managers to use their own authentic experiences and values to calibrate or recalibrate the outcomes of change and improvement around what really matters to them and people they are working with or caring.
Public narrative is an effective process that can be adopted and tailored to different situations that we find ourselves in. This Masterclass will provide the opportunity, in a safe environment, for participants to develop their public narrative, while providing the coaching and support to develop a narrative that can be applied to their own real-time situation.
Aims of the day:-
- Learn a process by which you can generate your narrative over and over again – when, where and how you need to in order to motive yourself and others to specific, strategic action
- Explore how to interpret life stories as a practice so that we can influence others based on reflection and interpretation of our own experiences
- Begin to create and tell your story, to listen to and coach others in the telling of their stories
Who is it for:-
The day is designed for leaders with an interest in organisational development.
To fully subscribed member organisations, costs are included in your subscription and no fee is applicable.
