BAME Co-Mentoring Programme
Friday, 22nd March, 2019 9:00am to 5:00pm
About the Programme
The programme pairs a BAME member of staff who is a champion for the inclusion agenda with a senior NHS leader in a co-mentoring relationship. The overall aim of the programme is for those paired together to establish a mutually beneficial learning relationship. The BAME staff member will experience support from the senior leader and be given an opportunity to share their own experiences. They will also gain skills, knowledge and experience from the senior leader. The senior leader will gain an understanding of the real issues BAME staff are facing, leading to them questioning how inclusive their own actions are and whether their organisation truly has an inclusive culture.
The programme runs 12 months and consist of a number of programme days along with the mentoring pairs being expected to meet on a monthly basis.
Programme days will include:
- Programme Launch Day – March 22nd 2019 in Nottingham
- Action Learning / Check in Day 1 – Date TBC in Nottingham
- Action Learning / Check in Day 2 – Date TBC in Nottingham
- Join Feedback Day – Date TBC in Nottingham
- Individual Interviews – Date TBC
In order to evidence impact and learning participants of the programme will be required to create a presentation in their mentoring pairs in which they will highlight the impact the programme has had for both parties at an organisational level.
