General Managers' Programme

The new General Managers Programme is designed to help support those who are new to, or aspiring to, general manager or equivalent posts by enhancing their skills in the leadership areas required for this level.  Participants will also gain a better understanding of their current skill set and their development areas, along with a deeper awareness of the journey required to become a top leader in the NHS.

The programme is made up of a number of elements including: Coaching Sessions, Action Learning, Healthcare Leadership Model 360 feedback, Masterclasses and a Top Leader Q&A.

Masterclass topics will include:

  • Strategic insight / commercial acumen
  • Resilience
  • Engagement, Involvement and Motivation
  • Creating your own culture within a team

Key Programme Dates:

The Programme is made up of seven dates and those wishing to take part in the programme must be available for all of these dates.

The dates for cohort 2 are as follows:

Day 1 – Thursday 6th September, 2017

Day 2 – Thursday 21st September, 2017

Day 3 – Tuesday 3rd October, 2017

Day 4 – Tuesday 17th October, 2017

Day 5 – Wednesday 1st November, 2017

Day 6 – Tuesday 14th November, 2017

Day 7 – Thursday 30th November, 2017

Please note there may also be some programme work that delegates will be expected to complete in their own time outside of these programme days.

Programme days will be split between Loughborough and Nottingham.

Who is it for?

All colleagues at band 7 and above who are either new to or aspiring to a general manager’s post or a post at an equivalent level.
